7 Last Sayings of Jesus dying on the Cross

in Historic artefacts/History/Holy Scriptures & Ancient Texts/Latest/Spirituality

Good Friday is viewed by Christians to be one of the most significant days in the History of Mankind when Jesus was crucified on the cross after being condemned by the Roman governor of Judea Pontius Pilate.

Tortured and humiliated Jesus suffered unimaginable great suffering under the ruthless hand of Roman prison guards, whereafter He was then made to drag the cross he was to be crucified upon to Golgotha, a place where they nailed Him to that cross and He died that afternoon.

Just before his last dying breath, Jesus expressed his 7 sayings that are written in the Bible. He died and was buried but on the third day was resurrected which is considered to be Sunday. He paid for people’s sins and showed the way that only by believing in Him one’s soul in the afterlife can be saved.

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”  (Luke 23:34)

“Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise.”  (Luke 23:43)

“Woman, behold thy Son.”  (John 19:26)

“My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”  (Mark 15:34)

“I thirst.” (John 19:28)

“It is finished.”  (John 19:30)

“Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.” (Luke 23:46)
