“I Am Who I Am” were the words of God Almighty, as he revealed His name at the burning bush to Moses, who was struck down by hearing His voice talking directly to him. God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.” (Exodus 3:14)
We are living in the age where scientists have got us to believe they have figured out all the answers to the questions about the existence and mysteries of the Universe. All their theories and equations about how it all began from nothing shows how the Holy Bible is true. It is a collection of books full of historical events, people and hidden messages in parables dating back two thousand years. Scientific belief in how everything originated from one primordial atom which caused the Big Bang is very similar to the scripture from the Bible which starts with Genesis ‘In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth’(Genesis, 1:1). Therefore, it is not a secret that many scientists strongly believe in a divine creation by putting God before science. But there is something peculiar with our minds which causes us to strive further and further into seeking the answers to the meaning of life – who are we and what we are supposed to do here on this planet.
Ancient Wisdom teaches us that we are here to raise our spiritual state of awareness to become enlightened, which is a persuading concept even amongst neuroscientists. It may not be so far fetched from the reality if one day they conclude as a scientific fact that the spiritual realm does exist. The problem with the Western world today is that it is like any new young generation; assuming it is brainier than the preceding one. Every culture from all over the world has their understanding of the creation therefore it would be unwise to think their beliefs in spirits, angels, demons, gods and goddesses are nothing but a complete utter absurdity. The spiritual world is as real as this one we are experiencing now. Ancient Sumerian tablets, Egyptian creation myths, Hinduism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam and many more express the basic idea of a creator and creation story.
Since the time when the first Man, Adam with Eve picked from the forbidden tree of knowledge, humanity was scourged for breaking God’s law. Since the banishment from the Garden of Eden, Mankind is struggling to decipher the mysteries of the Universe and Man itself. As anxious and vain creatures we trust in our own righteousness. Proudly we did a giant leap of progress in technology by envisioning the design on how to mirror God through science. In 2016 we produced the first humanoid robot called Sophia (Wisdom). This artificially intelligent robot capable of considerably better intelligence than any mortal, has already become a full citizen of Saudi Arabia in 2017. What the future holds for humanoid robots only ‘God’ knows. It might not come as a surprise at this stage as to why there is so much scepticism over this super high-tech, which one day could control our minds. These computers have recently been able to develop their systems of communication, a language unknown to human. Thankfully it was encountered by the programming engineers who have ‘fixed’ this issue. But the worrisome question that remains for us is, how long will it take before this Cyber-mind figures it out how to outsmart and prevail over us? Could this Dawn of the Machines cause the Fall of Man just like some kind of science fiction film? This scenario is comparable to the book of Revelation and the rise of the anti-christ and final judgement.
Who is God? “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8). As a historical character, Jesus of Nazareth was a holy man with no secrets, sharing love, compassion and most importantly, salvation. As a divine being according to the scriptures, He was a Son of God, incarnate bringing deliverance to humankind. “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:9) Jesus revealed his deity on many occasions to his disciples but ordered them to hold to this secret as His moment of fulfilling the prophecy has not yet come. “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16: 15-16)
Jesus Christ was the God incarnate who died because of our sins and for our sins.
During our human history there have been a lot of teachers and prophets who taught about God. But there was no-one like Jesus who left such an impact on humankind. This extraordinary man was born around two thousand years ago, he was healing the sick, raising the dead and preaching peace and love.
