The Many Worlds of Jude Cowan Montague

Reuters Television News archivist Jude Cowan Montague was inspired to write poetry on the many news stories that she covered whilst she worked there. From this she published her first book of poems ‘For the Messengers’.

Jude doesn’t just write, she has an eclectic range of interests. Trained in classical music she has been a musician and vocalist as a solo artist and has also collaborated with various musicians over the years, she is often performing somewhere in Europe.

A prolific artist Jude works in many mediums, from copper etching to sculpture and installation pieces. She studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and in 2013 won the Gwen May RE award at the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.

Jude is also creator and presenter for the radio show ‘The News Agents’ which can be heard on Resonance Radio every Saturday afternoon. As host Jude chats to her guests about what is going on in the arts, this magazine show has guests and contributors from all walks of life in the arts; musicians, poets, artists and writers. All come to chat and perform making it a lively programme and past podcasts can be found here.

Montague Armstrong’ is the gallery that Jude runs in the town of St Leonards on Sea.
