Theosophy comes from the Greek words Theos (God) and Sophia (Wisdom) and means the study into religious philosophy and Divine Wisdom. This Divine wisdom of the Universe is the knowledge that has been known and thought about for centuries by many ancient cultures and philosophers around the world as they study the evolutionary process of how to reach the higher consciousness of the self. There are many people on this planet who question as to why are we here and what is our purpose in life. Theosophy teaches that we are all one universal brotherhood that can through love, compassion and kindness set ourselves upon the right path towards enlightenment. Theosophy teaches that it takes many physical reincarnations to develop one’s self towards this goal of self awakening but the end result, enlightenment, is a worthwhile path to walk.
In this interview the president of the Blavatsky Lodge in London, Petra Meyer explains in detail the meaning of Theosophy which was founded by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky.
